November.

November (just wanted to mention it is January as I type this) was a blur!

Roman's Preschool Picture.

Got Griffin's picture taken too. He was quite the ham with the photographer and only had to take 2 shots to get the perfect picture.

Thanksgiving was spent at the Coast Guard Station eating a very yummy meal with Rich's coworkers. the XO's wife and myself fixed the meal for about 15 people.
I made turkey cupcakes.

In other news....
November 8th my 83 year old Grandma York passed away. She battled Alzheimer's Disease for several years. I traveled home by myself for her services, while Rich stayed home with the boys. While we were all mourning her passing, it really seemed like more of a celebration of our family. Below is pictured all of my cousins on my Dad's side. These all ALL of my grandmothers Grandchildren. We had not been all together since I was in high school.
Aunt Gertrude traveled from Las Vegas for the services also. She really amazes all of us! Andrea gave her a manicure.

My mom wrote a poem for Grandma's service. Just wanted to share it, it's really beautiful.

Grandma enjoyed the simple things in life.

She did't wear fancy clothes; a sweatshirt fit her simple style.

She simply loved her family and worked hard to support them.

You could say that Grandma was a down to earth farm girl.

She loved digging in the dirt to plant vegatables, flowers and trees

and watching them grow

You could say that Grandma could predict the future by dangling a

wedding ring of an expected mother's belly.

We watched anxiously to see if the ring would swing in a circle or a strait line

to find out if there would be a new baby girl or boy in the family.

You could say that Grandma's kitchen was where the magic happened.

Those yellow noodles, cherry chocolate cake, and gooey cinnamon rolls

will never be equaled in another kitchen.

You could say grandma loved the simple things nature provided.

Long walks in the neighborhood, searching for the first humming birds in the spring,

the sound of the fall wind blowing through the leaves.

Grandma truly appreciated the simple things in life.

You could say that Grandma's leaves have fallen but her roots are deeply planted in our hearts.
