Whale Watching in Anacortes, WA Sept 21
Mom, Dad, Roman and I went whale watching over the weekend. It was great fun!
Port Townstead, WA. We took a ferry from Port Townsted to Keystone, WA. It was a foggy over cast day. The harbor was serene with anchored sail boats.
Island Explorer that took us out on the 6 hour whale watching cruise out of Anacortes, WA
I was glad we brough the binoculars. There was alot to see
It was a pretty special day for Roman. Rich stayed home with Griffin, so he go all the attention!
He even took a nap!
After we finally go to Orca's Islands we got our first view of an Orca. There were alot of other tour boats around. There were 3 whales traveling together and we watched them for nearly an hour before they took off.
The view was spectacular!
On our way back we saw a Minki Whale. I'd never heard of the species before now. It was smaller than the Orcas we saw, and looked completely different. Our guide said it was probably a young whale. A boat of reasearchers was following it and trying to get it tagged.
I googled Minki Whale.
We also saw some harbor porpous, seals, different birds.
It was a great time!
